A coalition committed to reducing the frequency of power line contacts across the province, the Joint Utility Safety Team (JUST)​ provides industry education, safety awareness and resources to keep Albertans safe.

Meet the Team

By pooling resources and expertise, JUST's founding utility partners are maximizing their efforts to reach all industries that require work near overhead and underground power lines.

Headquartered in Calgary, with offices in Edmonton, Red Deer and Lethbridge, AltaLink is Alberta's largest electricity transmission provider. AltaLink is partnering with its customers to provide innovative solutions to meet the province’s demand for reliable and affordable energy. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, AltaLink is part of a global group of companies delivering energy services to customers worldwide.

ATCO Electric, a part of the ATCO Group of Companies, provides safe and reliable delivery of electricity to nearly 211,000 customers in 245 communities in northern and east-central Alberta. ATCO Electric operates and maintains a system of nearly 71,000km of transmission and distribution lines, delivering power to homes, farms and businesses across Alberta’s cities, towns and Indigenous communities.

ENMAX Power Corporation, a subsidiary of ENMAX Corporation, and its predecessors have provided Albertans with safe and reliable electricity for more than 100 years. One of the most reliable urban utilities in Canada, ENMAX Power owns, operates and maintains the distribution and much of the transmission network in and around Calgary, which are activities regulated by the Alberta Utilities Commission.

EPCOR, through its subsidiaries, builds, owns and operates electrical, natural gas and water transmission and distribution networks, water and wastewater treatment facilities, sanitary and stormwater systems, and infrastructure in Canada and the United States. The company also provides electricity, natural gas and water products and services to residential and commercial customers. EPCOR, headquartered in Edmonton, is an Alberta Top 70 employer.

As an owner and operator of more than 60% of Alberta’s total electric distribution network and more than 124,000 kilometres of power lines, FortisAlberta’s focus is the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to its 550,000 customers in 240 growing communities across Alberta. FortisAlberta is a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of Fortis Inc., a leader in the North American electric and gas utility business.
